I am with you. There is nothing that makes great than being thankful.

terrain breaks can be unpredictable at times.  I do not think there is one answer that fits all situations.  There seem to be different solutions for different scenarios.

The advice I can give is to post a plan with the problem you are having and somebody may have a solution for your particular situation that helps us all.

Thanks, have watched a video you posted earlier " terrain break to billemery" and that was helpful. I have seen also in your video how unpredictable it could be at times.

I have read an article in knowledge base explaining about terrain break tool, cool article.

Thanks for the advise too. Just learning...

  3. Not saying that Doug is incorrect but for some reason I have a bunch of Untitled plan files that show up in "File Explorer" when I search "Untitled" and they are auto_save.plan or auto_save_bak.plan possibly put there by windows from a power failure or computer crash but worth a look anyway.  Don't think I have ever saved a plan file as Untitled.

You have saved it by the name "Untitled", so you have the auto srchievd file!

  4. Try to import the cad file, that is if your cad file is dwg/dxf. Then you can save as an other chief plan after importing it. If the cad file contains a lot of content, it may be difficult to work with it. Finally delete all other imported content except floor plans to get traced in chief.

  5. My partner tought me about exporting all the info on layouts in one simple click. copy all the info in layouts( sheet 2-9)  to sheet 1, but not exactly on the paper space. Any where on the layout sheet 1 works fine, remember to marque select all the layout sheets one by one and paste it on sheet 1. Finally export the layout sheet 1 to .dwg and he will be able to open that file as a model space in autocad, containing all your data. One thing he may need is to increase the scale by a number k which is the inverse of the scale originally used when sending to layout.and every thing must work as he wants. Hope that helps.
