Toggled it on and still no color. Is there a grayscale setting that I may be missing?
-
So when shooting Orthographic Full Overview images in Standard View, they are only showing up in black & white. I've checked my settings and I have "Show in color" checked. It's only happening on this project, all other jobs are showing color. Any thoughts? I need the colored images for submission to a design contest. Thank you, Tammi

I'm not sure that I saw and answer to this question, but is there a way to create a macro for door labels to be 2'-6" x 6'-8" in lieu of 2668 or 30" x 80"?
-
If not using a door schedule, can door labels be called out with feet and inches 2'-6" x 6'-8" in lieu of 2668? If so, how do you do this?

Thank you Joe. I was afraid that creating our own user library with these specific objects on our layer system was the only way, but I thought I'd ask.

Is there a way to change the layer of an object within the library? For example, registers come in on the Fixtures, interior layer, we want it to be placed on the HVAC layer? I know we can create a user library with these objects, but is there a universal way of doing this?

I am shooting view from the first floor level, but the 3d images are the lower level. I did update X13 today, so I don't know if something happened with my settings after the update. I even shot a full camera view from the attic and the view was of the lower level too. The perspective full overview appears correct. Any help with these settings would be appreciated.

We've updated to X13. There are several jobs that were started in X11 or X12 and I do not see anywhere to import my saved annotation sets. Help.

Could someone tell me how I shade a floor plan. I'm being asked to shade all the areas of a floor plan that are not being altered. I've created a polyline solid, filled the polyline, set a layer, set the color that I want, and selected the transparency. I do not want to print in color or grayscale. Can I print in black and white and have the shading show up? Any help would be appreciated.

We are currently using X11. Is there a way to change the default label set for cabinets (which we print 1/2" scale) and doors (which we print in 1/4" scale)? I have the size currently set for in between the two scales, but it's often too small on my 1/4" floor plan for the door sizes and too large on my 1/2" interior elevations for my cabinets. Can this only be accomplished with default sets and saved plan views in X12? We are contemplating updating our SSA and and updating to X12. We currently have (5) designers and are thinking about adding (2) more, so this is a big expense. Can we accomplish what we want right now or is updating to X12 worth the investment?

Our company is now using plan views, but there is something odd going on when creating our layout. If we send a drawing to the layout, i.e. foundation plan and then send the first floor plan, the foundation plan converts to the first floor plan too. The only way I can stop this from happening is to unlink the plans each time I send a new drawing to the layout. Any idea why this is happening? Is there a setting in our layout file that will eliminate this extra step? Any help would be appreciated.

The template has the correct settings. When I open it up (I am the creator of the template), everything is as we decided. When other designers open up, they have problems. For example, the demo annotations and layers are set to be 3 1/2" (height we want for 1/4" scale), my co-worker is opening up the demo plan view and her dims are set at 1.75" (1/2" scale). We just can't figure out why, after importing all the defaults, this keeps happening.

Okay, we are still using X11 and we've gone to saved plan views with separate, annotation sets and layer sets for each saved plan view. We have a universal template that each design uses to begin any new drawing. We're asking them to import the latest annotation sets and layer sets, prior to begin drawings. We've also had each designer import the default settings that are tied to the template. The problem is, not all defaults are opening correctly. I created the template, annotation sets, layer sets, and defaults. The default text and dimension for our demo layer is 1/4" scale, One of our designers is getting 1/2" scale when updating everything and beginning from the template, any ideas how to change the defaults so that they will open as saved on the template?

I have created legends and added them to the library. The legends were created at 1/4" = 1'-0" scale, BUT, when we add them to our layout sheet, they come in HUGE. How do I add them to the layout page to scale?

I have created cad block for our user library. We've changed our typical font, so I am updating & re-saving the cad blocks to our library. For some reason, my vertical dimensions are not being added to the cad block. Any thoughts what is going on? I made sure the dimension was on the proper layer and that the blocks were being created in the correct plan view with correct annotation sets and layer sets.

Every time I try to add a new cabinet or shoot a 3d camera view, I get the spiral of death. This is only for this drawing. I am not having any problems with other chief files. Can you be of any help?

Does anyone know a way to change all the text style on an older plan? I know I can change the default style but that does not change all the text notes I already have on the plan. I tried to turn off all layers to only show the text layer and select all but this also selects the leader line so I can not do a bulk change. Any ideas? thanks

All of sudden, after working for a couple of hours, I am getting the "blue spiral of death" every time that I try to alter an object of 3d images. It takes at least three minutes to open the file. I was working from our terminal server, but have moved to my desktop and I am still getting the same results. Any suggestions? I would like to send you

Can you change the layer that a chief core, bonus, or manufacture catalog comes in on?

I am unable to change my floor platform default. The option to change is grayed out. It's set to 4" concrete slab as the default. This is messing up ALL my room structure defaults. Can someone help me find where I might be able to change to 3/4" sub-floor and 2x10 floor joists? It's also grayed out in the framing defaults. This change happened when we upgraded to X9.

Since I've updated to X9, I'm having trouble with building my foundation. The foundation walls are constantly continue to the roof, through my first floor walls. It's only apparent on elevations and sections, but I can't seem to find a setting that will change this. Anyone else have this problem? Solutions to correct?

We are using a terminal server, so everything is saved & accessed to the same files.

We are using a terminal server to save our files, so it's basically the same thing, I believe.

Yes. Believe it or not, I've never used dropbox, so not sure how this would work.

I set up a template plan and layout for everyone in the office to use on new projects. Each designer has their own Chief Seat, but the template is saved in the network folder. This is the message that comes up when anyone other than me (the originator) tries to up up the new plan or layout. What am I missing on setting up the template? I have set everyone's path on the Preference folder, new plan, to the appropriate file.
