How to put recessed lights in custom soffit under vaulted ceiling

I thought I'd share this discovery. Since I design a lot of kitchens and often use soffits, floating or otherwise, to compress spaces, I've always had issues placing recessed lights in custom soffits, e.g.: polyline solids that I've designated as soffits. The recessed cans always conform to the pitch of the roof in a vaulted (cathedral) ceiling, which looks terrible in a rendering, and bizarre in elevation. Chief is smart enough to place cans properly when using cabinet soffits, but not in polyline solids for good reason.

If you add a custom ceiling plane at the same height as the bottom of the soffit with zero pitch, the recessed cans conform to that pitch. You can then turn off the ceiling plane layers in any views since you won't need to see them.
