Copy Object Properties

Hi,

 

I cant find a feature that I would find useful - I want to copy properties from one object to another. In this case I have stairs with railings connecting between flights and I want to copy the newel properties from one to the other. Is there a way of doing this?

Select the stair you want to replicate the properties and try using the "make default" tool at the bottom of the window.  Probably not exactly what you are looking for, but it will get you closer.

Yea P, I have it in VCAD modify F6 properties to change one or a group on items.

There is the select same/load same tool but unfortunately it is not there for all objects (including stairs).  I also find it pretty clunky to use in practice.

 

There is also the replace from library tool.  You can save a new object in the library and then replace the other objects in your plan with the library one.  Again, this is not available for stairs.

 

I find that rather then change one object and then try to make the others match it that it is usually easier to group select them and change them all at once instead.
