Gable returns

Hello,

 

I am working on a project that has three front gable dormers. There is one over the garage, and a nested dormer (one large one over the dining room and entry, then a smaller one over the dining room...these have one common side)

Anyway, I have tried doing a full gable return on each gable but get a different result for each one. For the gable over the garage the full gable return works perfectly. For the dining room gable the full gable return doesn't work but a partial gable return appears on the right side of the gable (nothing at all on the left). For the gable over the entry, nothing at all appears.

 

 

Has anyone experienced something like this? Is there a way to fix it?

I use manual roofs to create the returns. Works 100% of the time.

I have experienced this also, do what Ken suggests, once I can’t get them to work automatic always do it manually, not worth fighting the program takes up to much time

Didn't realize you could do that (I am self taught, so there is a lot I don't know). Found a tutorial on doing them manually on the Chiefarchitect.com site. Thanks fellows.
