Roof Color

I am designing a home that has different a different roof color on part of the house.  I can't find a way to make this happen. I have tried the material painter, but that does not work.

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

select a roof plane, open the dbx and edit the material.

Create/copy a new roof material and apply to the areas you want a different color.

If material painter is not working, you probably have wrong setting.  After you select the painter, look at bottom of screen and make sure "C" for Component is the active choice

Curious. How do you select another roof material with the material painter if you don't have another roof material defined that you can select?

The Material Painter opens up the library for material choice.

The Material Eyedropper requires you to select an existing on screen material.

Thank you for the ideas.  I had to change the material painter to "component" and was able to make the change.
