Stairs Thread...

Hey guys, a while back there was a thread where someone came up with a work around on how to get the bottom section of stairs to cover a wall/have the railing die into the wall. I have no idea what I'm talking about here, It's been a long morning!!! I'll attach a photo. Anyways, I've searched this forum last night and a little today and can't seem to locate this thread. Any Ideas? I'm pretty sure I replied in that thread, but when I search for threads I replied in, it only gives me a few. I know I've replied in more than that. Hmm.

See this thread: https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/4657-stair-rail-on-top-of-wall/

there are other methods of handling this situation. Attached is a plan for an unusual existing stair that uses a 1/4" landing to locate the wider stair in relation to the narrow stair contained by the wall.

Stairs can be split by a landing, and have different characteristics for each section, allowing for creative solutions, the landings can be so small that they don't present problems with continuity.
