Hi everyone in Australia some people use a large bifold stackable door lets say 5000 wide with around 6 or 7 panels to access their outdoor living areas.  Is there a way or a work around to show these on a plan & elevation

Thanks for your help  John

Make up your own cad block for the plan view, have doors mulled together to achieve the elevations, I use differnet layers for each thing so I can turn off the 'proper door in the plan view.

this is an area chief needs a lot of work so we can specify doors and widows better.

Thankyou Brian that will help hopefully Chief will organise a suitable option in the programme sooner rather than later as these type of doors are becomomg much more common in the Southern Hemisphere

  • 1 year later...

Thank You Brian for sharing with us,

I've spent many hours trying to formulate these types of Doors, which are "more the Norm than others, Down Under in NZ" in Chief.

We also use a lot of Awning/Fixed/Awning type windows, and it's quite a pain building up the Mulled Units, instead of a "library type".

Merry Christmas to All.

evening John & young Ed,

attached library should give you what you want.

they are symbols so you need to make the opening first & then insert these doors,

may need to make a single hinged door as the first leaf.

I downloaded these but I could not find them.  Why is it so hard to find this stuff.  Wait,  I just found them.  These  were created by the Great David Michael,  I think it would be a good idea to credit David Michael for these.

Brian did a good job of explaining how to use these and yes CA could do a  better job of incorporating these into there standard door options.

Bi-Folding Doors

Make up the bi-fold door set using windows and block them, put them on their own layer, turn the layer off for plan view, on for 3D view.

Make a CAD detail of the doors in the opening in the open position with the revels and architraves/casings, put them on their own layer, turn them on in plan view.
