Unfortunately, versions earlier than X2 are not supported on Windows 7. Versions 9 and 10 were released in 2003 and 2005 respectively, and Windows 7 was not released until 2008, so there was no way to test those versions on that platform before their release. You can find a full list of supported Operating Systems for each version here: http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00027/.

I have versions 7-X1 installed on a hard drive that runs XP x32.

Versions X2-X7 I run on a hard drive that runs Windows 7 x64

I intend to add another SSD hard drive on which I will run Windows 10 when it comes out.

There is NO "fits all" solution out there, things run in an environment they were designed to run in and that is that, the rest are just ways to waste time.

@Mainewood   how well does the 3D work in a Virtual Drive , I thought that 3D acceleration wasn't enabled ? or is that just in the MS XP-Mode not the one you are using?

Best bet is to just do a dual boot with XP and run it natively if needed.
