Mystery Beam Lines

Hi all,

I have Chief 9.5. I've drawn a second floor with stairs to a plan and have ended up with a mystery beam. I know it's a beam because it disappears when I remove the check mark on the beam tab in the "Display Options" tool. Needless to say I haven't drawn a beam there or anywhere else for that matter. I cannot select the line in Plan view to delete it.

Any ideas how I can get rid of this annoyance?post-3167-0-96631000-1422712335_thumb.jpgpost-3167-0-83576400-1422712365_thumb.jpg

It's definitely related to the lower roof plane as it mirrors exactly the lower roof plane. I moved the plane up one floor for editing, but the mystery line remains. I'm just not sure how to get rid of it short of deleting the lower roof plane and rebuilding it. This is probably what I'll have to do.

they are created by Chief to show where roof intersects with walls

(head bumpers)

they can't be deleted, so just turn off that layer

or adjust roof to eliminate them

I don't think this is correct - Chief does not do this.

Post the plan.

Glenn:

maybe not ???

I remember doing a project way back with ver 9 .5 or 10 that had lots of areas that were

lower than 6'8" and Chief was placing the lines

I remember adding polyline solids to the lower height areas so that the client could see

on the floor plan where usable space was versus unusable space

but maybe that is not what the OP is experiencing ???
