No you can not, so either use solids as a facade on the sides, or use roof planes or anything else you can come up with

You can shape the front wall.  Just the side walls that need filling in with some other method.

 

Place the break along the top of the wall.

Yes and they will be a bit easier to mask in for the details.  Still waiting for a solution from chief though after many many requests.
