Hi Elfra N,

Solver suggested uninstalling the upgraded X14....but first, find the previous update version in your Download folder & install that after the corrupt X14 is removed.

At least this gets you running again....bur beware of the prompt to upgrade when you open X14 from now on!!!

I really hope CA get on top of this promptly.

Good luck.....Steve

Ps To every one that is going the route to uninstall and install the previous x14. When you open your layout save it first. Close it - reopen and then print, els it still have the problem :)

We have received a number of reports about this problem and are currently looking into it. When we have a fix for this problem we will try to get an update out as soon as possible.

As far as I can tell, it is only a problem when your monitor scaling is set to something other than 100%.  You may be able to temporarily work around this problem by resetting your monitor to 100%.  Please note that if you have multiple monitors, you may need to reset all of your monitors.  If this does not solve your problem, then please contact our technical support team for further assistance.

The other solution would be to uninstall the 14.2 update and install the prior 14.1 update instead.  If you need help doing this, then please contact our tech support team.

I apologize for any inconvenience that this is causing.

Hi Elfra, Tech support sent me version Chief_Architect_Premier-24.1.0.46-Win64. I uninstalled the current version and reinstalled and that fixed the error! For everyone follwoing, you will need to asked tech support for this version to solve the problem.

Hi Selaro,

Just talked to Tech Support.....the version you were given is the update version prior to the latest (corrupt) update.

Tech Support are aware of the issue & working on a fix...I'm not sure how we are to be informed when the revised update is available

Cheers, Steve

Thanks Steve, my ticket is still open on this. I have sent my specs to Chief and once they get back to me with an update I will make sure to post it here! I'm just glad to be able to get projct going again.

Cheers,

Ben

Submitted a support ticket for this same issue this morning...  Hoping for a resolution.

Thanks for the input from other users...  Gives some peace of mind that it's not just my system or settings.

I am certainly not doing the download of that update until this is fixed.

Doesn't seem to affect most.  It is apparently a small amount of users being affected.  So obviously it is a configuration that is causing an issue with this.  Chief is just trying to figure out what it is.  I haven't seen any of these issues personally on my setup.

Like others have written, it has to-do with the display scale settings for the monitors being used on the individual's computer.  Tech Support guided me through the solution and, while it's not elegant, it does allow me to produce PDF's which are accurate representations of the model.

I changed all my monitors to 100% scaling, closed X14 and re-opened the software.  Printing to PDF now works (although, the buttons etc are very hard to see...  definitely nothing to do with my aging eyesight!).

Got it figured out.

In playing around with different configurations, the issue only occurs when i send the elevation to the layout page and select "live view". When I send it as plot lines, it prints correctly.

Hey!

Was about to create my own post about the same problem and then saw this thread.

Having exact same problem and selecting plot lines helped. And this came after this last update. It was not there in initial x14 release.

After initial x14 update I am having all sorts of weirdness with elevations. Like most annoying is that every move with details seen in elevation is very slow. Changing between elevation views is sometimes 5 seconds. Even in a plan with a very tiny building. Was much faster in x13.

And now new update to "fix" x14 bugs gave this rescaling issue.

At least I can print my drawings now.

Thank you!

I have checked my messages, thank you.  Is there something in particular which you are wishing to emphasize or, are the messages an automatically generated response to new members?

If so, please let me know.

Yeah I did not get an update notice either and used the help check for updates which just takes you to the download page.  @SNestor Posted about it on facebook which is the only way I knew it was there.  @DermotJust FYI.

Perhaps Rolling out the Fix slowly for "Testing" since it is a single (Hot) fix Update for this specific issue....

As far as I know, there is nothing wrong with the update notifications.  You should not assume that the notifications are not working just because you did not get a message less than 24 hours after we posted the update.

I'm having an issue with elevations not updating but the scale isn't the problem. When I have a layout open and revise an elevation, even though I'm clicking yes to update after I close it, it's not updating on my layouts. I have to go in and physically hit the button to "Update all views" to have anything actually update. Extremely frustrating. Is anyone else having this issue?

I downloaded the update above and it's still not working.

This no longer happens in X14 AFAIK  ...are you still in X13 per your Forum Signature ? ( or time to update it perhaps? )

Use of the Update All or Update Plot Line Views Buttons manually is common Practice now unfortunately ......

      Hi!
I use Chief for a semi-production home builder. We have stock plans that are customized. I want to be able to draw my plans with the front door side down, but when you send the layout box linked to a camera view to the layout page, you cannot rotate it.
So, I have to rotate my plan layout pages to fit the side view on our 11x17 paper. Rotating the title block and the layout-box itself is fine, but the dimensions text rotates incorrectly. All our text boxes face right or down.
When I rotate the plan-layout-box to the right, the text stays facing right, (now up) but the dimensions turn so they are now facing left / down.
When I rotate the plan-layout-box to the left, the text stays the way it should still, but now the up-down dimensions rotate to the right/up.

I have tried all alternatives around the "rotate with plan" checkbox in the dimension defaults.

Can anyone help me keep the dimensions the way they are on the plans?
      Thanks!
      Elicia

Does anyone know how to customize the layout box labels, so it automatically comes into sheet as a particular sized font, and with the %box_scale% macro?  Why is this setting not obvious?  It should be something you can access either from defaults, or ideally from an individual box that you open properties for.

I found the save as PDF in the print command, thanks. When the layout is converted into a PDF the wall fill is missing. I had also included a footing detail on this sheet. It has fill patterns to such as concrete, soils and sand. Those fills show up in the PDF file. Is there some setting I am missing?

Also when I print this PDF file out on my HP 750c Plus plotter, it is not printing to scale. I do not have the plotter connected to the computer that I have Chief on
so I need to print the file from another computer that the plotter is connected too. The plot is off by about 5%.  I see that one of the buttons under drawing scale is "print to paper 95%". I did not check that button, I checked off "to scale". My print setting are as follows:

      Chief Architect: Save-As PDF
      Paper: Arch D
Print Source: Drawing Sheet: Arch D
      Drawing Scale: To scale

I have printed PDF fills that have been sent to me form other firms and they all printed to scale. So I'm assuming that there is nothing wrong with the computer settings that I have my plotter connected too.

      Thanks,

      Mike
