Chief automatically lowers sill plate for stem wall

Hi All,

I have what should be a very straightforward case: I have a rectangular existing house with a full basement and an addition with crawl space at a lower elevation, 7" in my case. Chief automatically lowers the stem wall of the main house for the stem wall segment between the addition and the main house while also creating a jog with the rim joists. I have not been able to figure out how to control this behavior. If I manually edit the stem wall in a section view then for some reason the sill plates disappear from that wall altogether...

X13 on MacBook Pro. Plan file attached.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

2 Things.

1) Try reversing the Main Layer of the interior wall to match the main outside layer of the exterior walls. If that doesn't work...

2) simply grab that segment of foundation wall in 3D and drag it up to snap into place at the correct elevation.

No, I just thought it maybe worth a try even so..... as CA's Settings sometimes act in unexpected ways....

* see below it does work at least in this case.

In that situation I always put a Smaller scoop footing between the new and old, draw the footings as a box, then move the footing between the new and old right up against the old footing. this has been around forever.

Okay had a few minutes to look at this and it seems to work okay with the right settings for me........  ( in X14 at least )

ie the Addition set at -7" as mentioned in the OP ( was at 1.75")  and the Pour/Framing group set to 2  ( mentioned above ) in the Addition Room DBX also.

Thanks, Larry , it works similar to the Roof Groups setting but is sometimes hit and miss.....

Personally I am not afraid to try things like that, as there is always the UNDO Button :)       ( set to 50 min.)

( or I do a Save As Plan to try things on)

I thought if you did this you would lose the auto sill Plate.
