      Hello,

I have been working on a stepped foundation and was wondering why in the cross section for the foundation it does not display the entire wall length? It seems to extend only until the perpendicular wall intersects it. I was wondering if there is a way to change this and if not what are the easiest ways around this or to accurately measure it in the floor plan view. I attached an image (in this case there is a 4'' gap on the left side and a 3'' gap on the right side of the screenshot). Thanks.

      Hello,

I was wondering if there is a way to create a reverse ledge in the foundation (walkout basement). I only want the ledge to be 3'' in height and 2'' in depth. It allows us to get the grade higher, as well as allowing the floor to sit flush with the top of wall. I have seen the tutorial for brick ledges on the exterior but nothing for a reverse ledge (facing the interior of the house). This is being used in a walkout basement for reference. Thank you. The attached image is not drawn to scale and is obviously missing a few key elements to the foundation but it is just there for a easy reference.

Hello, I can't seem to find any answers when it comes to the Foundation Plan, sometimes the Foundation shows up looking different in certain areas. I have deleted, and redrawn every foundation plan that I can, but in specific areas, the foundation shows up as a footing instead of a monolithic slab. I have gone through all my settings and defaults to make sure nothing is out of place, and I've watched every available video on Chief Architect, but I can't seem to get an answer to my question. I'll attach a picture to show what I am talking about.

Looking at the picture, you can see there are two different types of foundation. I am confused, because I didn't choose any other default or setting whilst drawing. I simply connected the dots, and it gave me two different kinds of foundations. I checked many times to make sure everything is lined up, and It is, however, I just don't understand why it's doing that. Anyone have any ideas?

Brand new user here! First question: Is there a specific order in which the tutorial videos should be watched to learn with a better A to Z process? I'm watching a ton, but they are not in a helpful order, so I'm taking 2 steps forward, 3 steps back, making error that I have to correct, etc.

As for this particular topic, are there specific tutorials for creating a slab foundation that extends over a sloped terrain? I'm looking to make the footers, foundation walls, and slab. I've attached a screenshot from a CA video (unrelated) that shows the end result I'm looking for, as well as my work showing a floating slab.

I am wondering how I can set up my foundation walls and main floor so that I can have a slab on one part and a framed floor on the other that flush out at the same level.
But I would like the top of the ICF foundation walls to have a double sill plate with the concrete poured inside of that where the slab is and the other side would have accommodations for the framing to come out at the same height. I have a simple plan attached and some cross section details of how the top of foundation wall would look.
I know I can just build it with the slab at the same level as the house and then just have these detail drawings included in the plan but I am wondering if there is a way to actually have Chief build it this way?
