woodcraftdesign Posted January 7, 2022 Share Posted January 7, 2022 Hey All, When auto building deck framing, Does anyone know a way to build the deck beam "flush" and if using the drop beam method to adjust the drop beam location (this would be the cantilever distance on the joist) It seems that chief defaults to 16" ... MoeGia Posted January 8, 2022 Share Posted January 8, 2022 My default deck bm is .1" x .1". The posts then built to 'the almost correct height'. After I'm sure there won't be any further design changes, I manually move them to the proper location and modify the framing as needed. Hopefully, we'll gain control of these beams soon. rgardner Posted January 8, 2022 Share Posted January 8, 2022 I don't use the beams and posts on my decks and use auto framing to start then reframe my decks manually and set my posts manually (they will set to proper heights if you do it that way.)
