Howdy,

I currently run ASUS ROG Strix Laptop, which I've had for a couple years now.

Thinking it's time for a refresh.

I have not had one issue with this machine. It has been awesome....but the graphics handler could use updating.

I was looking at the most current version of what I have....it still looks great.

I'd like to hear what others think, as this is my primary workhorse.

I work from home/car/coffee shop....portability is a must, so I won't be going back to stationary system.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

LOTS of good choices among that line of LapTops. Looks like you'll pay for faster/better graphics card. 3060/3070/3080 in ascending order and SSD choices. I saw a couple that spec'd 1 TB SSD - that's NOT what you want. Make sure it's says PCIe NVMe SSD in the specs. similar to below. Again more SSD storage, more money, but those laptops looks great in my opinion and would buy as much as I could afford.

Cris, be a bit wary of all the spec's. Their web site says 1TB NVMe SSD but if you serach for the same model on Amazon there's no NVMe SSD.

I recently bought and am so far very happy with...

Alienware X17 R1 Laptop

Intel i7  4.6 GHz  &

32GB ram, NVIDEA RTX 3080

seems to run the PBR ray trace pretty well .  it doesnt have a numbers pad due to fans required to cool it so keyboard take a bit of getting used to but not a big issue

Nice systems and specs and as always it becomes a matter of budget.
