resize image box in layout

I'm having trouble with the new X13 version of layout.  I used to be able to resize a jpeg image box by holding the corner of the layout box, holding down the option key on Mac, and was able to resize the box and it would stay in proportion.  Now the option key does not seam to work the same way.  When holding down the corner of the box, the rectangle scews into a trapezoid and doesn't resize the image.  I can't seam to find anything about this.  Did something change with this process to resize in proportion???

On a windows PC, I right-click drag the corner to resize proportionally OR use the resize tool.

Option key never did that for me with mac.. Maybe you had a hotkey set.  

 

However if you use the X or C you will get a concentric resize of the box (from the center of the image).

I think this changed in X11 as we can now shape layout Boxes, but as far as I know holding down the

X key and dragging lets you resize retaining aspect ratio on both PC and MAC

X10 and they still have not restored the functionality we had in X9.   The new feature should have been an alternate function or at the very least the old function should have been made the alternate function.

Good memory  I knew it was a couple of versions ago , I still reach for the old button 1st....
