How To Replace Walls And Leave Headers

I am taking out a couple of walls that are perpendicular to each other, but I need to leave headers to carry the upstairs. One header will be a longer one and the other header

will tie into it. I need jambs only on one side the other just header to header and the other no jambs showing at all.

What is the best way to do this.

Using X6

Sounds like a remodeling project and as such I usually have an "as-built" plan and then a copy of that saved-as and then edited to represent the proposed project. Things like headers and beams can most easily be represented using 2D CAD items on custom layers to show such Engineering details whether in plan or detail views. You can even draw the CAD objects in your "AS Built" plan and then copy-paste-hold position them into the remodeling plan if you like, There is usually more than one way to get portrayed what you need and want.

If I am doing a remodel like Gary's, I would want to show this new design in 3-D to the client not a 2-D CAD version. That is the reason I purchased Chief. I understand CAD drawings and can easily visualize what is drawn but clients need more to understand what the change looks like.
