DAYLIGHT BASEMENTS

In designing a new home with a daylight basement, what would the floor levels be?  Would the daylight basement be first floor and the next level be the second?  I'm confused and need some help, videos or instructions.

This has been discussed frequently and in quite depth in the forum.  I would recommend doing a search for the positives and negatives of the two methods.

 

Method 1: Daylight basement goes on floor 0 (footings and short stem walls on same level)

 

Method 2: Daylight basement goes on floor 1 (footings and short stem walls on 0)

Main floor is 1, walkout is 0.  Floor 0 walls will be pony walls framed wall up, foundation wall down.

 

The frostwalls and foundation stepdowns will be edited manually by you.

This is exactly how I do it.

I like walkouts on level 1 b/c I like the foundation on its own level.
