CAD Circles/Arcs Layout

You probably draw:  

-temporary rectangle with a polyline.

-draw diagonal line from corner to corner, software should automatically figure out the center of this "Hypotenuse" 

-You can get the length  of your diagonal line if you want to, but don't have to.

-Now select the circle about center, draw the circle  from one corner until it locks to the center of your hypotenuse.

-repeat from the other side.

 

These arcs could be equal or unequal the principle is the same. You may not need this rectangle, it just gives a clue as far as where the transition will be...

Thanks, but I'm not sure how that helps. It's obvious where the width comes from, but the height is unknown.

 

I was probably not clear -- I'm trying to find the radius of the circles.

I think my drawing the circles is confusing as they are what I want to create, or more precisely, the arcs formed by them.

Thanks Chop and Michael -- both good solutions. 

 

Another CAD program I sometimes use has an arc tool that allows a pick 3 points method of describing the arc. If Chief offered the same, I think Michael's method would have been obvious.

Perfect. That's the tool I was wanting and I hate to admit, I'd never even noticed the various arc creation modes. 

 

Guess I need to spend some quality time with the documentation.

Yep, that was a good example from Michael for that arc mode.  I've seen those arc modes, and used them a couple times, but it's easy to get in a rut of just using what's familiar and readily accessible and forgetting about the other modes available.
