Emailing a .Plan file

I have emailed plan files before but this one must be to large.  Is there a way around this?  Thanks...

so I hate to ask for help on zipping a file as I have done it many times but when I zip this file and look at it, the file name is there but nothing inside

Had you closed the Chief file before zipping?

close the plan in Chief

 

use Windows Explorer to find the file - then right click on the file and select SEND TO - choose COMPRESSED (ZIPPED) FILE

 

if still too large

 

create a Google Gmail account

my limit is 25 MB - new account may differ

 

if I mail something larger than 25 MB then google sends it to Google Drive

and the receipient can download it

 

this is free

 

yesterday I sent a 767 MB file

Or you can try Backup Entire Plan from within Chief.

Select the Send Backup Files To Zip Archive option.

Should save you a bit of fumbling around if it gets the file down small enough.

 

Or...I have used a free service called WeTransfer - free and great for large files.

Upload it to Dropbox (free version works fine for me) and then send a link to your recipient.
