Screen Size / Resolution

I have two designers that use three 24" monitors and I have two 27" on the left and right and a 32" curved in the middle.  When one of my designers work in a plan and then I open it to review in my office most of the text does not display correctly.  If I go to their office, it looks fine.  Is it due to the difference in screen sizes?  How is this fixed?  See attached

This is a common problem and is suspected to be due to different screen resolutions - many posts/threads on it here on the Forum over the last 2-3 years.

The easiest fix is to select your text tool , marquee select ALL the text in the Plan , Open the DBX and Close it again without doing anything.

Thanks... a LOT of text in a 30 page layout

Make a Text-only layer, turn on all text for plan. Select all, open, then press ok to close all text. should fix it for your screen. Your other team members will need the same process on their end, every time.

I have text layers but they are Plumbing Text, Electrical Text, Framing Text, etc.

Yes, Make a layer set with only your text layers on, then do as described and it will fix the text wrapping issue on your side

  • 6 months later...

This solution doesn't work for individual details. I have to open 25 details and move each detail left to right just to get the text to reset........every godam time I take a drawing file from the office 43" monitor to my home 27".

Such a stupid work around. Can't they fix this? I doubt Revit or Archicad has this problem.

It doesn't work for CAD Blocks ... that is correct.... Unblock  > reblock should work too I think.

It is a continuing Issue for me as well , working with Others who don't have my 2560x1440 monitor size.

For anyone tight on desktop space, here's a smaller 32" TV that will help. It's the first time I've seen a TV under 40" that is still 4K

But I'm picking up this 43" to squeeze onto my home desk tonight. I just can't deal with this crap any longer.

I could not be happier with my 43" TCL. Less than $240, tax and all. see specs below.

Same here, except my 43" TCL is model 43S415. I bought a Hisense 43" 4K from Walmart but it only lasted a few weeks; screen went blank and would not turn back on. Took it back and ordered another TCL. That said, if you go the Hisense route, yours may work just fine.

Just my 2 cents.....

I bought two of these Hisense R7 43" last year and love them. Unfortunately they aren't available anymore:

Today I bought 3 Bestbuy branded Insignia FireTV 43" tvs. Two for my assistants upgraded workstation and one for me at home, but I don't care for the screen colors, and I think if you sit too close the corners of the screen aren't as bright as my Hisense tvs. Good enough for my assistant, but I'm returning mine.

I'm going to pick this up tomorrow instead. Vizio 40". It's a bit smaller and should fit on my small desk at home that I have in a spare closet in the basement for late night work away from the wife and kids.

much better than my 32" LG.

Yup. Every 32" maxes out at 1080p. Enlarging your screen onto one of those makes the text very pixelated. I found out the hard way.....buy.....test..... return..... waste some more valuable unpaid time
