What I don't understand is how one transfers that pattern to the texture file for 3D viewing? I'm hoping it's easier to do this now as the posting dates back to 2014? There is a Material in the other File in that Thread but as Eric Pointed out these days you can likely make a better one fairly easily, then use the Pattern from the Thread too for vector views.
