How do you get Chief to do a half tread at top of stairs.  I need to frame my stairs like the attached image.  I sifted through the posts but came up empty.

Staircase Specification dbx>Style panel>Top Landing>Nosing at Top Landing and/or Riser Surface at Top Landing.

This will give you a nosing, not a half tread.

I have never seen it done like that , but I sometimes use a Full tread at the Top and I think a 1/2 can be done the same way.

 

Set the Treads and heights to Manual,( uncheck both auto),  lock the top Height Reference to the top Tread not the landing and then ADD 1 tread ( or Riser or increase Riser ) and set the Top Height equal to the 2nd storey Floor Height. When you Open the Staircase DBX again the Reference height seems to go back to Floor Landing.....see pic.... I set it to 133 3/4 originally per the Structure pic from the 2nd floor.

 

you could then drag the floor 1/2 way through the top tread if needed?

Thanks to both of you.  I am aware of both of these methods.  I was really hoping I was missing something that had been staring at be all the time and never saw it.
