How much do I charge clients for renderings.  What basis and what amount.  For example: .20/house sq ft for an exterior pic.

Not certain a fixed $/sqft rate will work. This will depend upon how complete the model is that you need to render and the quality of your rendering capability. Are you receiving files from others to render or are these renderings coming from projects you are already working on?

then determine how long it takes you do them

include the time to get the email(s) from the client and reply back

and setup time etc etc etc

 

offer: levels of quality

 

$X for Bronze

$XX for Silver

$XXX for Gold

$XXXX for Platinum

 

Gold or Platinum should be considered "photo-realistic"

 

X doesn't need to be a doubling of the price - just a different amount

I think you ask an estimated price based on experience with prior jobs, plus a healthy buffer, but firm quote on a case by case basis.. One 4,000 Sq. Ft. house could be much simpler than another 2500 Sq. Ft. house.. Also your quality relative to the market matters a lot.. By all means get good enough to be in the upper market.. "Volume" won't make you profitable in the lower end.

Thank you for your response. Everything I draw is to the best of my abilities. I demand the same high quality for a 1,500 sq ft house that I do for a 6,000 sq ft house. All 3D work is strictly for original plans design/drafted by me. I enjoy working with CA Premiere. It is a tremendous program with excellent support. Thanks again for your help.
