Have CAD blocks show on Foundation plan

Hi there, 

 

I am needing to show the hold downs on the foundation page. I can add them manually in Layout but it would be nice if there was a way to be able to have them automatically show up on the Foundation layer from the Framing Layer. Any ideas?

Put them on a specific layer.  Then create a layer set that only displays that layer and use that layer set as the referenced layer for your foundation plan.  

 

ps:  I also display the "Walls, Main Layer Only" in that referenced set.  This makes it easy to see where my shear walls need to be.

I have created a lateral and HD anno set that is linked to same layer set and associated layers.

 

After I layout all of my HDs  and associated text on the floor plan then i just go to all off layer- turn on text HD and callouts HD- select and copy- move down floof level- paste hold position- make a few adjutments and done.

 

Repeat as needed for floor levels or views.

 

 

FYI- this method works well for chasing point loads down from roof to foundation.
