Convert to CAD Lines

Recommended Posts

If it possible to convert a door or window to cad lines?

I would like to show optional door, etc. and not let the door actually show up in 3D, or 2D (when it is placed in the wall). I currently have the door on a separate layer, but on my framing layer, it leaves the opening.

Thanks. Thomas

I think Cad Detail from View is what you are after by the sound of it.  Place optional door, create Cad Detail from View, Delete Door, Copy and paste cad line work and fills back into plan view. On the other hand it does not hurt to frame optional doors if decisions cant be made right away as it makes a much easier reno later.

I can't figure out why my walls are not meeting the roof.
I run into this a lot and usually finagle walls by puling on their handles etc but changing from gable wall to hip wall etc seems to make no difference in how the wall acts.
I just want them to act like when I first drew them where they just automatically connect with the roof.

Newbie to Home Designer Pro! I've watched a bunch of tutorials, taken the bootcamp, and searched the help system and forum... Seems like I'm missing something very simple?
How do you make a wall that has exterior on both sides? For example: an exterior accent wall (like the pony wall (?) in the pic coming off the left-side of the entry) OR specifically the walls making up the exposed Covered Entry in the pic--which would have a foundation, ceiling, roof, and most-importantly an exterior layer (stone) on both sides? Do I need to create this type of wall from scratch? Isn't this a common thing?
I've tried create a new wall type and altering a specific drawn exterior wall to no avail. Scratching my head here and feeling silly that I can't figure it out!

So, I'm working on this duplex, created a door schedule.... and the entry door labels are being mixed up somewhat with the doors into the garages.
Both entry doors should be D07, and both Doors into the garage should be D09.... but one of each is switched around...  one of the entry doors on the plan is called out as D09, and one of the Doors into the garage is being called out as D07...
And, yes, if I open the doors from the plan, they are showing up correctly in the dialog box.
