Cad block for clg. smoke detectors

Has anyone found that they need to enlarge the cad block for the ceiling smoke detectors? I have. 99.9% of my plans are ay 1/4" scale and the plan checkers find it hard to see the smoke detectors. I've been using a larger can block and have had less comments from the city plan checkers. I never hear anyone comment on the size of the smoke alarm cad blocks so I thought I would bring it up.

Never had it questioned but you are correct they are a little small.  Usually place the detector in an open area and use the label so maybe that helps.  Chief architect drawings are generally much clearer to start with than others I have seen so that is always a plus.

Some cities have wanted me to enlarge that cad block, in which it's very easy to do. Just re-do the cad block, the text is just too small, save it to your lib. for future use.
