Creating either an airplane fusselage or submarine hollow cylinder

HI Everyone:

I have been commissioned to design a very specific interior space inside a horizontal cylinder 119" in diameter 83' long (i.e. an airplane fuselage and or submarine vessel) hollow cylinder with a flat floor and furniture and amenities inside . its a great project yet I am not sure where to begin to create the guts of it.  I am looking around to see if anyone have created such a shape and how to create in plan and or 3D to insert furniture and finishes. If anyone knows or have done a similar thing before I will appreciate any impute or communication.

Thank you !

I wont mind creating everything manually , however I never done it before wont even know where to start! I was playing around with polylines circles to see if I was able to go someplace with it but didn't achieve any success. Than you for the impute though

Never done that myself but if I did you might try invisible walls with no ceiling or roof, just a flat floor. The exterior walls could be a p-solid or a real solid, windows and doors would be difficult but doable if you have time to do it.

This isn't a fancy fuselage shape like Michael gives you, but it is a cylinder, and it does give you a floor to set things on: submarine.plan

The fuselage is made of curved roofs. The room is defined with invisible walls. There are several compromises with this approach (I can't get the floor to show up so I drew in a polyline solid), but there are advantages also (a floor to set things on, for example).

This is definitely not aerospace design software but that was a great demonstration of what Chief can do Michael.  +1 = 0 ?  Thanks.

You're welcome Chop.  Thanks for upgrading me from unhelpful back to simply neutral and of no affect, it means a lot :) I’m really going places now!!

Nice creative use of solids Michael. Goes to show although maybe not as free flowing as sketchup, chief can produce almost anything and only limited by ones creativity. Some handy tips on technique for creating custom symbols too, cheers

Museums have this sort of thing, a space you enter inside a room, the space emulating the inside of a submarine, or space shuttle, or airliner.

The specialists that do this are display builder contractors and I'll bet their work begins in a built space with vertical planar walls and planar ceilings.  It might be worth it for you and your client's builder to have a discussion with a couple display builders to see how they would address this room finish.

Strange , I have noticed a lot of -1 scores lately for Posts , usually for no apparent reason ..... I'm not even that sure most take notice of the Rep scores , but still a bit strange....

perhaps it's about the "Topic"  rather than the "Fix" or anyone personally?
