Render view problems

Any thoughts on why the textures are looking so bad in render view second image  first image is from x7 showing all is good it not just on old files it is all files with a new X9 install windows 10 machine radeon video card R9 200

Looks like maybe an incorrect Bump or Normal Map

i checked that there is no bump or normal file loaded in materials but thanks though

Mark,  Is that Cream Corrugated Metal because the one in my Library has a bad Bump Map

I came across this when I first upgraded.  There is a setting somewhere that will change that but I cannot remember where it was. Others also complained.  Hopefully someone with a better memory than mine will chime in.

Is this possibly related to Edge Smoothing while Idle?

That's definitely a bump map on the texture.

X7 didn't have the ability to show a bump map in standard camera views.

 

X9 does.

 

You said you checked 'materials' but did you check the material properties of the siding specifically?

Sorry I though I posted a reply last night to say the problem was fixed but I must have forgot to click submit 

 

it was because of that material bump plus the user had toggle texture of and he was trying to explain it over the phone  so it got a bit mixed up but we got it in the end 

 

so thanks for all the kind help
