Window Rough Opening - Home Designer Pro 2018

I have created windows in my floor plan.  I set the window width to 24".  This is usually a stock width for the windows I use, but I want to make sure that Home Designer Pro 2018 is quoting the rough opening and is not setting the window size framed width to 24".  How do I check or set that when I set a window to be 24" wide it framing the rough opening to 24"?

Thanks, Solver- appreciate the reply.  I did check the framing, but not sure if the 1/2" (D) allowance is incorporated into the window size or not.  So when I set the window width to 24" W is that the rough opening, as most windows are quoted in rough opening at Home Depot.

Using Chief X12 and have a question about rounding.

Is there a way to make dimensions round to the nearest fraction? Using the manual dimensioning tools, the program is rounding inconsistently. For example, I have my current dimension defaults set to show fractions to the nearest 1/2". However, it won't round to the nearest 1/2", it will only round down. One measurement in particular is 10'-4.94", and it's showing up on the floor plan as 10'-4 1/2" instead of 10'-5" like I want it to. This is causing exterior dimensions to appear inconsistent and is overall a huge headache for me.

Is there some setting I'm not aware of that is preventing the dimensions from rounding up when I need them to?

      Thanks,

      Hello,

I have been working on a stepped foundation and was wondering why in the cross section for the foundation it does not display the entire wall length? It seems to extend only until the perpendicular wall intersects it. I was wondering if there is a way to change this and if not what are the easiest ways around this or to accurately measure it in the floor plan view. I attached an image (in this case there is a 4'' gap on the left side and a 3'' gap on the right side of the screenshot). Thanks.

I have had this issue for a couple of years and just lived with it.  I do have an iMac with the Apple mouse.  Often when I do long end-to-end dimensions the lines are not straight or drawing a CAD object, they are off.  I have my "angles" checked so that I am not drawing an off angle item.  I have gone into Chief preferences and see nothing there and have also gone into the System Preferences on my computer to see if there are any controls for the mouse.

I never had this problem before.  It used to be, that I didn't have to worry about actually drawing a straight line, as Chief seemed to make sure the intended straight line was drawn that way.

I put an example --this is a CAD line that I attempted to draw and I truly meant to draw it straight.  What am I missing??

      Hello,

I am working on an as built for a 1800's house. The door and window trim is 5 3/4" wide. My problem is that there a few instances where the door or window trim has been cut down to fit up against another wall. For example there's a window in one of the corners that is nearly up against the perpendicular wall. The trim on the left side of the window is 5 3/4" but the trim on the right side is around 3".

Is there a way to place the window further into the corner and cut off the trim? Can I make the trim on only side of the window a smaller width? This is a pretty common occurrence in our work and I would like to have a method of solving this issue.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
