HI Guys,

Sometimes we're just cutting back a roof overhang, but when I do this in chief it leaves the gutter in.  If I shut the gutter off it turns it off for the whole roof plane?

I thought this would be resolved in x9?

Any work arounds besides creating a whole separate roof plane in this area?

Thank for your help,

Barry

I think I have corrected some of those issues in the past by bringing the main roof plain up to the overbuild and connecting it then manually redraw it into the original position. Not sure that you should ever get gutter in a valley though, but maybe I don't understand the question.

Did you ever figure out a good solution? I often have the same issue - I'd like to be able to select which segment(s) of the roof have a gutter and which do not (like you can with a molding polyline) rather than be forced into having a gutter automatically placed everywhere the tails occur. I'd like control over each segment and not just over the entire roof plane as a whole.

This is simple.

  1.  Unlock the Roofs, Gutters layer
  2. Select the edge you want to suppress the Gutter
  3. Click the Remove Molding from Selected Edge tool.

OOB, Chief has that layer locked - but unlocking it allows you to make edits just like any other Molding Polyline.
