Lake House project Update

Thought I might post some of the photos of the interior of my Lake House project.   The client is moving in and planning Thanksgiving dinner with their family for the first time in their new lake house!  The timber frame work, in the great room I used PLSolids to model.  I had a number of different sizes and it was really fun designing and detailing them in CA.  Also, the windows were customized in CA. I really love seeing it come to fruition from the design.post-1662-0-15282100-1478781211_thumb.jpgpost-1662-0-41273600-1478781231_thumb.jpgpost-1662-0-13344200-1478781251_thumb.jpg

Curt, be sure to post some updates as you go.  I love seeing mine being built! While in design, I sent several 3D walk through video, plus they down-loaded the CA viewer, which made it great to collaborate on line with them and reduced the face to face meetings.  They also used them to visit with the local code folks where they were building  and it reduced the hassle of getting advance approval or some things they wanted to do.  It also helped when they brought their builder to the table......he was blown away with it all and what he thought would be impossible to build, became a PIECE of CAKE so he said, because as I developed plans and details, like 3D framing, he could actually see how he could build it instead of wondering how he would! I give credit to Glenn Woodward for his invaluable tutoring on the roof design effort especially when I was under the gun the get the early CD's out for budget pricing!

I will try to remember to do that.  I am really looking forward to working on this project.  If I had $799,000 laying around, I would buy my client's existing home (for sale).  It sits right on Idaho's famous Salmon River near Whitebird.  Here's a few photos from the realtor's website:

My client's new home will be built on a lot overlooking another of Idaho's famous rivers ... the Clearwater.  His lot is not on the water but he's only about 5 minutes away for when he wants to go try for a steelhead.  He's had to blast 900 cubic yards of rock to make a building pad for his new home.  Here's what his view will look like ... looking west down the Clearwater River valley towards Lewiston, ID:
