Wall Height for bonus room above garage

I have a room above my garage. Currently the walls are the same default size as the rest of the floor. I want to shorten the left and right wall to bring the roof life down. This should cause the corners of the room to cut into the roof line. How can I go about doing this? The only way I can seem to move the wall height is change the ceiling. I don't want to do that because the ceiling is the same throughout the floor. I just need the walls to drop down roughly 18in or so. this room is vaulted.

Any help?

I believe this is what you are wanting to do.  By using your roof planes baseline height, you can change the height of the walls for your second story.  Take a cross section of the attached plan.  Hope that helps.

Such a great lesson from Jay. Think about it, you asked how to drop the height of the walls, if you dropped wall height what do you think would happen to roof?

Yes, drop the roof 24" and that changes wall height. IOW, roof controls wall height, not vice versa.
