Stairs going up to second floor are blocked by the floor.

When I created a second floor, my stairs on the second floor are blocked with the floor. Is there anyway I can fix this so I can see the steps from the second floor?

you need to create an "open to below" room above the stairway on the 2nd floor.

Look for the "Auto Stairwell" command in the Edit Toolbar when you select the stairs on the first floor. Or you can draw an Open Below room above the stairs using the Reference Display to properly align the walls of the Open Below room above the stairs.

You can do as Jared said by using some invisible walls or railings and wall combo and create room defined as open below...or just use the auto stairwell tool as in the picture below.

just for the record you must be using an older version of chief

 

a few versions back chief added a feature where it would auto-magically add the invisible walls to create

the room on the second floor with open below
