Change Glass Material in Window, Doesn't Show.

Happy Wednesday! I am trying to change the glass material for a window. When I do, the new material does not show in the elevation or perspective view. For example, if I change the glass to a screen, in all rendered views it still shows as glass. I've been working on this for hours. Hoping someone can help! Anna

A material is two fold, one is a vector pattern for vector view cameras and the other part is a texture file for render cameras. When you customize a material you have to do both, otherwise you are merely half done.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, changing the texture did not work either. All I can think of is that it has something to do with it being a window, or with a rendering setting? I'm baffled.

Anna, post the plan.  We can't tell what you are doing without the plan itself.

I change the glass material in windows and never have a problem so we just need to be able to analyze your plan.

show us a  picture of the window that is giving you problems.

In the Rendering Techniques Options dbx you need to

uncheck "Opaque Window Glass.

Hello all,

Rich, My"Opaque Window Glass" box is unchecked. Any other ideas?

DS Hall, I've inserted some photos. The glass around the center door needs to be a white wood panel. For the other wood panels I'm using a window treatment of raised wood paneling. I thought this would work, but it will not. For one, the wood paneling will not cover the entire length of the windows that plank the door. For two, they show perfectly to the clients current conditions (very slim molding/frame) on one side of the wall, but on the opposite side, they show a thicker molding which is not true to the current design (we are adding a few windows and acoustic panels, but not changing this area of the wall). I guess my other option is to use a 3D molding, but with how easy CA is suppose to be to use, I thought their would be an easier solution.

To get the glass material to change you must have a side width for the Sash. Why? I don't know, but it's necessary.
