I just got this laptop not too long ago and have no problems. See my specs below.

I personally would reconfigure one of the two structures or both to make the roof work easily or have a detached garage with a breezeway.

Sounds like a video card issue.

You could also use walls or even a slab. Kinda depends on the situation.

As Marc mentioned, if it's blocked, unblock it first. If it's not blocked and your multi-selecting text, try opening one text and see if you can edit it.

Windows built-in functionality works for me ctrl-c then ctlr-alt-v.
This is what I always do and works just fine.

I've done this a lot with patios and carports that are free-standing. If I have troubles making Chief build it the way I want, I don't fight it (no time for that), I just do all posts and beams manually. Goes pretty quick.

As David commented, once you've built framing and then you make structural changes, you then have to rebuild framing again.

Usually best to leave the structure where it is and rotate the survey plot lines to suit, then the north arrow needs to also be rotated so the survey angles are still correct.
This is how I always do it.

Delete the housewrap layer and it dimensions like you're expecting.
This issue has been around for a long time. Since I don't use the materials list, I've deleted the house wrap in all my exterior walls that call for it in my template plan.

You have to use the end-to-end dimension tool...and then it will dimension to the center of an interior wall
That is correct. Manual dimension.

I don't believe manual dimensions will locate the center of an interior wall.
Yes it will.

The only other thing that's strange, is that I'm not having these issues with files that were recovered for X11, only X12.

Okay, I found the problem and it has nothing to do with "saved plan views" for I don't use them and saved plan views are always set to "none" for I don't use them. Here's what I have to do to fix this in certain plans and ('ll explain "certain plans" in a minute). In different working plans, when I send the plan view to the layout referencing the 2nd. floor, I have to open the viewport and tell it which floor to reference and not use the default setting of "automatic". It seems to reference different things in different plans so I have to open the viewport in the layout (different plans) and turn off stuff. Now that I know how to fix it, it's a quick fix. This is NOT a user error or a program error. I can open a new plan and layout and send the plan to the layout referencing the 2nd. floor and all is good.
Here's what's happening. Last month, my laptop hard drive went bad and lost all my files. OMG, this was my worst nightmare for I was working on 3 very involved plans. Anyway, I did have a great computer tech recover my files. I bought a new laptop and reinstalled X10, X11, and X12. Apparently in the recovery of the files, something happened to the files that is messing up how the referencing is being transferred to the layout for it's different with different plans. Everything works fine when I do a new plan. I also noticed that a couple of the textures didn't recover right even though they should have but was an easy fix. So far, these are the only problems I've had with these recovered files. I'm so relieved that I at least got my files back!

Dermot, I don't use saved plan views. I will check this again later. Thank you.

Did anything happen in X12 when sending a plan view to layout with the 2nd. floor reference turned on? It's not working for me. I can get it to show right if I send it to layout as an image. Just tried it in X11 and the plan referencing the 2nd. floor sent just fine to the layout. (without sending it as an image). Am I missing something new in X12?

Did an online meeting with Joe and showed him some other things he needs to know about editing schedules that wasn't mentioned here which would have been difficult to explain here without writing a book. Also told him about an old schedule problem (that's been confirmed by Chief) that still isn't fixed in X12 probably due because no one complains.

My new laptop has this feature and my raytracing is a lot faster than what I used to have but probably not due to the RTX card.

I meant to say "saved plan views".

Well David, to be honest, I would have to watch you sending these plan views to the layout using a new layout to see what's happening and how you're doing it. If you're using "plan views", that could be the issue but don't know. Feel free to call me at 832-754-6160 or maybe someone here can help on this forum.

If you're sending to page "0", don't. Things sent to page "0" will be seen on every page.

Non-C.A. Electrical Resources for Permits
in General Q & A

For some of the remodels I do here, The City of Houston sometimes requires this but it has to be done by a licensed electrician to be submitted.
