Ah yes, the snipping tool... forgot about that. Thanks again!

That is very odd... It wasn't displaying like that before. I have a feeling it may have been a graphics card issue. My GeForce is no longer recognized on my computer. I'll be taking it in today to see if that resolves the issue. Thank you both for the help. Out of curiosity what program do you use to record a live screen share? If the problem still isn't resolved I'd like to see if that would help in the diagnostics. Thanks again!

Sorry about that little misstep. Try this. Thanks for your help. Still can't figure out what the issue is.

Not sure if this is the correct topic area but for some reason, I can not figure out how to display the electrical fixture I just dropped in. Here are the steps I've taken:
1. create wall elevation (E4)
2. clip wall elevation in plan view making sure the fixture is well within the limits.
3. saved, exited, restarted .plan
4. added light fixture in plan view
5. opened elevation by double-clicking the callout in .plan
6. display opens sans light fixture
Sorry had to zip the file... didn't have time to figure out how to shrink it...

That one is an oldie but goodie, surprised it's still around after Chief has fixed it many time before
Out of curiosity are there any downsides to unchecking this?

Hey All,
For me, my issue was resolved by:
Edit > Preferences > Edit > uncheck "Synchronize with Cursor"
Hope that helps others! and thanks to @glennw for the tip!

Just jumped into this thread because I'm having this very issue. I did try @HamlinBC fix to no avail. Has anyone had this issue? Resolution. I've tried adjusting the sensitivity issue but it doesn't seem to be a sensitivity issue.

Thanks for all the help. I've been using 390.77 for a few hours and the issues I've been having seem to have been resolved. I'll update my post if I run into them in the next few weeks but for now, it seems to be working great! Thank you again for all the help and expertise!
:: UPDATE ::
I've been using Chief heavily over the weekend and today with no apparent issues. Thanks for the fix!

Hello everyone,
I just skimmed through this post coming over from another. I'm having the issue described above (running Nvidia GTX 1060) and am unable to Roll back my driver. Not sure if there is a way around this or if anyone has figured out a permanent fix. I'm also having this same issue anytime I generate an elevation and then attempt to click out of it.

Great thanks. I'll check it out.

Are you running a Nvidia Card as it may be related to your video driver. Please add to your signature and also update if you are now using X9.
I am running Nvidia GeForece GTX 1060. Also, the signature has been updated, thanks for the reminder.

I'm using Chief Premier X9
Build: 19.3.1.8x64
2 errors below. Please download my project file and see if this happen. This started once I did the latest update. Is there a way to revert to my previous build?
Were you able to resolve this issue? I'm having the exact same problem.

7I am using Adobe Acrobat and you are correct it only appears to happen near the bubble transparent fill areas. Also, I have not been able to find the "Save as PDF" option in Chief that everyone keeps talking about. I assumed it would pop up as a file type after the "Save As" option but it does not.
Thank you both for your help.

If you are using any transparent fills anywhere in your plan file that may be the problem.
Also, always use the "Chief Architect Save as PDF" rather than another PDF output source.
Thank you for this tip, however, I do not see a "Save as PDF" option. Am I missing something?

When I print to pdf (600/1200/2400dpi makes no difference) the resulting image comes out as shown in the attached screen shot. also, there appears to be some image on top of the distorted portion on the pdf. If you rest your cursor over the distorted image it changes to a cross hair and allows you to click the area showing a blue box that directly relates to the portion of the drawing that is distorted.
Please also see the attached pdf for reference. Has anyone experienced this or does anyone have any idea why it might do this?

Did you reset settings in the structure to their defaults?
My apologies for getting back to you all so late, I appreciate all the input (and friendly debate ). This seemed to do the trick thanks so much!

The problem is with the 2nd floor covered porch. Make it Unspecified, and the message goes away.
I was unable to replicate this result. Here are my steps:
1. double click balcony to display specific room settings.
2. Change room type to "unspecified"
3. View room from floor below = no change
4. Edit Floor Defaults while on second floor = no Change
5. Edit Ceiling Defaults while on first floor = no Change
What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help!

did you zip the plan first ?
I did not! Thank you very much that seemed to work.
3 hours ago, HumbleChief said:instead go upstairs and raise the floors of the rooms above. The plan will help of course but that might help you a bit.
I tried this but to no avail. It just pulls the same problem up by "x" inches...

It is a two story plan I've tried doing that but I think because the addition on the first floor extends further into the backyard than the second floor this is where the problem begins.
I tried uploading the .plan(x6) file but I was getting a 200 error code.

After adding an extension to an existing home I ran into an issue with the ceiling heights in the now open floor plan being different. I went to universally adjust them but it raises the entire problem rather than leveling them out. I'm getting the message "Ceiling values may not be changed as the floor above this room has varying heights. Has anyone encountered this? How should I go about fixing this issue? Thanks.

Thanks for all the feedback. I suppose for now we'll have to continue to send .dwg or deliver prints. On a fairly similar note has any used Chief to Collaborate at all? Is it useful for this type of trade to trade communication the way Revit is? Thanks again.

We recently started using CAx7 to design and build all of our jobs requiring plans but often run into situations needing the stamp of an engineer. We need to find an engineer that would be able to use the work we've put into producing the design and layout files to produce their set and collaborate with us in the process. Our typical requirements are for small home additions and random structural approvals as required by the building department. If anyone is interested, or knows someone who is, please let me know. I am also fairly new to CAx7 (background is Revit/ACAD/Rhino) so there may be a bit of a learning curve on the front end as I get over my "bad habits".

I am fairly new to CArch(usingX6) but I've also wanted to do this when changing foundation/slab properties. A. where is the tool located (I did say I was a noob correct?) B. would it even work for what I'm wanting to do? Basically, the existing foundation was a floating slab under an old addition. Now we are going to demo this and build it properly to match the conditions of the adjacent kitchen (which I have built properly).

Place a standard Callout and in the DBX box, change the number of arrows to 4. you will still need to place text at each arrow, but then you can make it a CAD block and save in your library. What the heck...I will just do it for you!
Thanks! I appreciate the help despite my inaccurate topic placement.
Can I save a newer version file to an older version?

And yet Autodesk Revit figured it out... interesting.
