  5. This is completely off topic, but what floor are you using in that photo above? Is that in the X6 library?
  6. Have you watched any of the videos on CA's website or YouTube? http://video.chiefarchitect.com/player/player.php?id=564&th=1&autoplay= Try this one, it gives you an idea as to how you normally draw rood planes in CA. I'm currently off work for a few days due to a sick family member and my significant other insisted I took the time off, so if you have ANY questions about your plan what so ever, feel free to shoot me an email at anytime. I was curious about your basement... if you're having trouble with that too, feel free to email me. rosco_2017@hotmail.com
  7. Here are two pics you should look at, in the first pic you have an unneeded roof plane. In the second pic, you'll notice I highlighted a green line. That's the roof baseline. You'll most likely want that to be drawn on top of the wall. If I've said anything that is wrong or doesn't make any sense, please chime in here. Thanks!
  8. Brian, Is this what you were trying to achieve? It looked like you had an extra roof plane where there shouldn't have been. Good Luck, Hope this helped... Brian Fixed Roof.plan
  9. One of these days, I hope to be honored by one of Scotts videos...Lol. I've learned not to watch them in waiting rooms or around children, but I always watch the video's he posts because sometimes the Chief videos tend to put me to sleep and his videos are the best. When you watch Scott's videos, your significant other tends to say (or mine at least) "Did he just say what I think he just said?" Keep up the good work Scott. His slogan should read "Never a dull video" LOL
  10. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to go about making this kind of detail above my arched opening. I have tried with 3D molding polylines and get crappy results. We do this in all of our houses and it would be nice to finally get to show it to a client instead of showing them the render and then a picture of what it's supposed to look like. Here's what we start out with, and then here is what we finish with. He's another photo of what I'm talking about. Hopefully this makes sense, if it doesn't please tell me so I can try to clarify what I want to accomplish.
  11. Sorry ARCHIJEF2000, I have been very busy lately and haven't had time to get on here. Not sure what you mean by the "origins thing" I just couldn't find a 3d model of the style of door i was looking for but i found one on 3d warehouse.
  12. I was looking for a door to import and use in my plan. Luckily I found one in 3d warehouse.
  13. oh and yes, the plan was flipped.
  14. What I needed to do was to adjust the pitches on the roof. I can't believe I mad such a rookie mistake. lol Thank you guys for your help and time.
  15. Nvm, found one on google. Thank you for your time.
  16. It wouldn't let me upload it, but i guess all it took was for the file to be zipped. Hawthorne Park Estates Lot 65.zip
  17. I am meeting with a client on Monday to go over the final plans for their build and I can't get my elevations under control because of my roof. Here is a pic of what the roof needs to look like, and you'll see in the plan where I've gone wrong. The pitch of the roof is 8/12 and the gables and eve's have a 14" over hang. I normally have roof down, but not this one. I'm stumped. Any advice would be appreciated! If you need to get a hold of me directly my email is in my signature.
  18. Just out of curiosity, does anyone have a door like this? The builder I work with uses this stile of door and I can't rind anything in the library that looks like it other than a craftsman style door that has recessed panels. I need raised panels. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Masonite-Glenview-Smooth-3-Panel-Craftsman-Hollow-Core-Primed-Composite-Interior-Door-Slab-10560/202505835#product_description
  19. Yup, you were right, it was under "Floor Surfaces". Thank you!
  20. Is there a way to display the floor sheathing while in the perspective framing overview?
  21. Hi. Have you watched any of the help videos? Maybe post the plan and I guarantee you'll get better help then just explaining your situation. Have a great day!
  22. Gene I live off of Auburn Rd near Dupont. Rd. That area has boomed in the past 5 years. I've been with Chief Architect for many years, But recently went from HD Pro to Chief right about the time X5 rolled out. I'm 25 years old and do this as a hobby. More of a home enthusiast than anything. I can't bring myself to design my own home and it's driving me NUTS! Lol. My significant other is no help when it comes to the designing our dream home either. All I get is "Just tell me what checks to sign and don't bother me with the details" LOL Gene where do you live now? Why did you move form Fort Wayne? DO you know of any other Chiefers that live in Fort Wayne?
  23. Thanks Gene, practice makes perfect. Greg, I'm not sure pony walls would work in that situation, but lucky I figured it out without having to do a work-around. Gene, great idea about the stucco. I would have posted sooner but the internet connection I pay $150.00 a month for only works about 1/4 the time and the cable company who provides my service has been to my house at least 4 times this month alone.... and it's only the 11th. They say nothing is wrong with the main line, they replaced all the lines on my house, and all of my equipment. Nothing seems to work. But hey what are you gonna do?
