  1. It looks pretty bad Shane. I tried all the tricks I could remember and made it worse. See below for new camera sent to layout and failure in print preview.
  2. Here is a link to a thread where @yusuf-333 demonstrates a method of sending to PDF and converting to DWG that works for text and dimensions. Not all Chief but it very easily could be in the next version or two.
  3. Would this be satisfactory ?
  4. In the North East we use SPF framing material ( Spruce, Pine, Fir ) which seems to encompass what is used in most of North America. What gets stamped on your lumber ? And yes I have changed the name from Fir to SPF. Maybe chief should do that so everyone else does not have to ?
  5. Not sure about the material list but that definitely works for a Framing Schedule.
  6. i cant see a way to scale it with this method correct me if i am wrong Yes that may be difficult to do accurately. There is a "Ratio to Sheet:" setting but it is only in increments of 1%. If you don't have a photo editor you could use the Watermark feature to set the transparency and export as an image and then re-import and scale accurately.
  7. Apply the Satellite shot as your Watermark. Image transparency is unfortunately hidden away in only that part of the program.
  8. Can you have the entry as NOT a Mono Slab and put 12" of concrete into the floor structure of the room ? If not you may be ahead of me because I don't have baseboard with the mono slab. Something like this ?
  9. I think I understand the visual but a plan file would help immensely in a situation like this. How is the living room defined ?
  10. Sounds like an unscheduled adventure into Room Label defaults. But we may never know.
  11. Mike, do you keep your cad details in your template or use a warehouse plan so you don't get bogged down ?
  12. That is the one. Put a check in the box. You are very welcome.
  13. Yes you can open the layout box and under the Plan View tab you can Select a Reference Level and Layerset.
  14. Yes that is just about the way it is for now. A little clunky with lots of extra steps unfortunately. You can have details in Cad Detail Management which will index in your Project Browser. This may function a bit more like you are describing in AutoCad. These can be organized in an warehouse plan and sent to layout from there or copied into a customer plan file and edited and then sent to layout. You would need to do some searching for previous forum discussions of methods and pro's and con's of each.
  15. Open from Library, place in plan, update details, re-save to Library. What did you try ?
  16. It might not hurt to send that one in Steve to see what CA thinks. It is good to get those little artifact issues cleaned up if possible.
  17. How about a free one ? https://cadsofttools.com/pdf-to-dwg-online Try it out and buy a copy if you have anything private you need to convert. Just a caution though, I am working with it and there seems to be a discrepancy with precision angles but I am not sure if it is the pdf or dwg file that has the issue.
  18. Appreciate the useful tip. However you are not quite correct as we have lost the constraint that keeps the layout box proportional from X9 without the lengthy procedure I described above.
  19. Delete the Molding from the Room DBX and create a Manual Room Molding Polyline which can be edited.
  20. If those walls are a little closer together you can set the interior one to be "Furred" and then in the window DBX Under the Casing tab you can set the Double Wall Options.
  21. Sorry I had to check my notes on this one but you can get a Pass-Through to show on the schedule or block it from showing by going to the Schedule DBX under the general tab and select "Object to Include" or Not Include listing. Ray it seems the walls need to be closer for the furred option to work.
  22. If I am not mistaken it is usually one or the other or none at all. Both is not an option unless you have some sort of a special window ? It appears that you have two individual windows there in you screen shot, or at least a Pass-Through and a window of which the PT will not appear on the window schedule as it is not technically a window. Somehow I thought that a Pass-Through could previously be put on a schedule but I could be wrong. You can suppress the label of the Pass-Through if that satisfies you situation for now.
  23. Yes thank you Dermot for providing that comprehensive answer. I was really just trying to help bernie out with his old computer. However Dermot's answer should help all the rest of us know what to put on our Christmas wish list to run X11 with.
