based on this post, it sounds like you just confirmed what I demonstrated in my last post. Without additional constraints dim 4 can be almost anything you want it to be. You are still not making it very clear what we are solving for. It seems that perhaps you are just demonstrating that you may not actually understand the geometry very well yourself and although you think you might’ve found the one answer, you just found one of MANY possible answers.

Absolutely! My method remains live. Any changes to the sheets themselves and the Layout Page Table updates to suit.

We actually do have a trick for this. You can Cut and Paste you Layout Page Table to a CAD Detail in Layout, and send that CAD Detail to Layout. You can then copy, crop, and reposition to create the illusion of either multiple or wrapped Layout Page Tables . This you should be able to do without even figuring the problem out. Just go to Tools>Layout>Referenced Plan Files and change all linked files to the one single file of your choice.

I'm just trying to clarify what the end goal is because I don't understand which dimension(s), angle(s), or point(s) we're trying to solve for. In reading through the description it would seem to me that we're trying to make Edge 1 align with P6, but that would require Lines 1 and 2 being at different angles. If we're simply trying to solve for Dim 4 on the other hand, then we don't seem to have enough information to work with since simply rotating Building 1 would allow that number to be just about anything by simply moving Building 2 up or down to suit. And if we're simply trying to find the angles of the lower wall on Building 1 and the upper wall of Building 2, then again, we don't have enough information to work with without some clarification. We can currently model to meet the limited specs given and use an infinite number of configurations even if we were to lock Angles A, B, and C at 90 degrees. ...and that's before allowing for some of the other variables I asked about. In any case, this doesn't seem to be an issue with the program at all but rather a basic geometric issue about which there's either a lack of understanding or lack of proper data.

I agree with some of the others. Nothing about your situation should preclude you for doing it all in Chief. In fact, although it might still require using a little CAD, I'm not sure it couldn't all be done with walls. I feel like perhaps you just might not have a handle on the tools and methods you can be using. That being said, you're diagram is a little confusing and your constraints aren't very clear to me. You're attempting to explain something in a lot of words that would be better put in your diagram: Does this look about right? If so, can you clarify a few things? Are Line 1 and Line 2 parallel? If so, then I must not understand the intent or else Dim 1 and Dim 3 would match. Is Angle C a 90 degree angle or is it unknown? Should Dim 3 perhaps more accurately be placed right in line with Line 3 indicating that there's actually a potential pivot point where the wall meets that line? Am I correct that Angle A and Angle B are unknown? Am I correct that Dim 4 is unknown? Anything else I'm missing or misunderstanding?

For situations like that, you should probably just use CAD tools until you get it situated. Then start moving walls. WE have to use the right tools for the job, and sometimes walls aren't that tool.

I couldn't agree more. Applying moldings in elevation view is the same story.

Speaking of acceptable language and Big Ass Fans. I remember purchasing a whole bunch of them for one of our projects back in probably 2014. One of their models was called the "Isis" (an Egyptian goddess). This was around the time though that the Islamic State was having a resurgence as ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria). Next time I was ordering fans it had been cleverly renamed the "i6".

I'm not sure you understand how the Room Types work Brad. First off, the Copy and Delete buttons take the same amount of work and they're found in the same place. The only real difference is the seconds it takes to type the desired name. And there was nothing special about the otherwise redundant Room Types Chief removed. Its Room Functions that have drawing intelligence built in and all those extra Room Types were nothing more than renamed copies of existing Room Types with no change to the Room Function.

Not sure there is any way to turn those off without turning off the Drawing Sheet altogether. Can you just turn off the drawing sheet? And perhaps place a CAD object to represent the Drawing Sheet?

There are still ways to set the default line weight. Just not the default color.

You should really post the plan for things like this. Too many variables. Its possible there's a far easier solution depending on the specifics.

You should really take some time to familiarize yourself with Chief's 3D modeling tools. The ability to just model what you need when you need it is incredibly valuable. If you're willing to pay for a little of my consulting time and get a symbol out of it as well, I can make you a custom video showing you how I would model that from scratch.

That's just a coincidence. Mine shows the exact same date. This, I can't tell you. I'm not sure how one might do that. Just an idea, but you might try saving a copy of the font (in case the rest of my suggestion doesn't work) and then opening X12. It's possible X12 will try to find and automatically install the missing font. If that doesn't work, just reinstall X12 from your digital locker and I'm assuming the old font will install with it. Once installed, copy it for future re-install.

Ya, I was aware that they have changed it a few times. I just didn't know if they changed in for X15.

You're seeing the font version, not the install date.

I'm ot sure whether Chief changed the font or not. A couple ideas come to mind though. Change the character height in the X12 plan. Reinstall the old Chief Blueprint font.
