  1. I am trying to plot in 3D framing a brace @ about 45º in plan view, but also rising @ about 6º in elevation (or on the 'Z' coordinate plane). (The is in steel framing)

I am using 'convert polyline' to a molding, but cannot raise the molding end height in an elevation view.

(I don't normally draw structural steel in an architectural system, but hopefully, there is a method.

Any ideas on how I might do this?

  2. Can some help solve this? I want the window frame captured in the Room Elevation view. The window is positioned in the outer of the double wall system. This position is essential to the best practice for external window flashings. The window is displayed in the external elevation view but is on displayed in the internal room elevation view as shown below..

I have produced a double wall system. The wall frames are checked 'Frame through' in the Double Wall section of the Wall Specification box.

as per the floor plan view. The design is an internal timber framed wall (90mm hatched) against the shed 150 steel purlins (150 grey) to create a double wall system.

The window is position in the outer wall (or the grey section) which is automatically cut through the frame wall as shown below

The room elevation view below is of the kitchen sink view, however the window frame is not showing because it is positioned in the outer wall. How do I get the room elevations to show the window?

    How do I resolve this?

  3. Somewhere I discovered a camera adjustment to lighten the background building elements of an elevation. This adjustment highlighted the foreground walls etc with a higher degree of boldness.

I am not referring the jpeg background views, but walls and other building elements beyond a certain distance, which are lighter than the foreground in an elevation view.

Can anyone tell me where I found this? Perhaps there is a video instruction is available.

  4. Can anyone recommend a good teaching video for understanding line weight and scale transfer to the layout page.

I have always stayed with the preset CA standard. I think.

Generally, my common line weight is 18 and my layout is scaled @ 1=1/50mm.

I always get this error, but don't understand.

  5. IS there a method in stair menu to produce angled riser as shown below.

This method allows a 250mm going to actual achieve 275mm. Similar idea to treads overhanging 25mm, but cast-in concrete angled risers avoids the need additional tread installation.

    Any helps or ideas?

  6. I cannot use the casing option as the window are in a brick cavity and the casing sit proud of the wall in the plan view. This still leave the centre frame between the highlight awning incorrect at 100 wide; should be 50.

  7. I am attempting to produce a window combination as shown below. My difficulty is trying to mull awning window highlights side by side. The side frames of an awnings need to be set equally. The menu frame option does not offer a right and left frame member varation, therefore the centre dividing frame  become 100mm wide.

Any suggestions how might overcome this.

see method I have tried utilized below

  8. I can't work out how to display the library preview at the main folder level. Generally, my setup as always shown preview of all symbols under a folder. The screen shot below has the folder highlighted, but preview is blank.

    image.thumb.png.3737ac0f25742a59a3761083596ae2b7.png

and this screen shot has the item highlighted and the preview displayed.

I have tried setting under 'preference' & 'setting' but without success. I have even gone back through a few training videos. Not sure if I have filter problem. My library setting is 'not filtered. I have used the 'Reset Panel Layout' in the preference library browser settings. I am sure this is obvious, but it would seem I need help with the obvious.

After pressing the Reset Panel Layout. I get the all door symbols displayed on every library folder I pressure. (Strang)

Can anyone tell me the setting that allow the preview to display when only the folder is selected.

  9. as per the attached window sill in a brick cavity wall I have created an unwanted block

I have created a 1course splayed sill as per displayed in the library below, but for some reason chief is created a mould of about 25x25 (1"x1") additional moulding as the base of my sill which creates an unslightly gap below this sill.

I have made sure the rough openings are set and zone

The bottom sill thickness is set at 86mm (i.e. I course)

    Any suggestions or helps.

  10. I have imported a new symbol and made all the adjustment so the basin embeds in the bench top. I have update the 2D symbol to better refect the symbol, but for some reason a border has been created that I don't know how to remove. The symbol specification menu does not display the border. It only self generates when placed in the plan view. See below

    Any suggestions?

  11. Is there method to bring construction line into the foreground?

Construction lines do not have the 'View Draw Order Edit Tools' icon button

I am using the construction lines as grid line. I assume that is their purpose

I am working in a section camera view and can reasonable achieve the visual of brining the construction lines in the foreground by using the 'View Order Edit Tool icon to push other cad items behind the construction line, but this is not very successful and quite long winded
