  1. I don't think the Ixxxt was on your end in that case Looks like CAD Masks cleaned it up for you? M.
  2. I see you have 2x6 or 2x8 there already so I assume you mean automatically make the Sloped Ceiling fill in? no way that I am aware of but thinking about it now I wonder if you made that short piece of 2x8 floor Floor a Landing instead the Stairs would handle things differently? ....haven't tried it... but I don't think the Auto slope section will happen unless you trick it somehow. M.
  3. In case you missed it Eric.......Brian Beck posted this in another Thread about how to handle Reflective Materials in X10 20.1 ( Full Release ) Creating a General Material with a low roughness and a higher specular value should give you a very reflective surface in 20.1. Altering the roughness and specular values should give you the control needed to get results similar if not the same as X9. Have you been able to test this out? If you are still getting undesirable results in this area please submit a plan to tech support so we can look into the issue further.
  4. Wow a down vote for mentioning X9 .8 has issues for some , I guess there are some CA Fanboy's around here who can't see the Trees for the Forest..... M.
  5. a possible fix, working for Me ...at least in Beta3 so far https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/16912-lets-pbr/?do=findComment&comment=142683 M.
  6. Do you have Ceiling Surfaces on in X10 ? I see two different ones in X9 ( kitchen and living Room) curious cos that looks like the OSB/Plywood showing over the Kitchen like you have no Ceiling Material or Ceiling in Rooms are Off ? M.
  7. I have tried this in another Users' Plan I was helping this morning and it also works there ....once the defaults and Enhanced lighting is turned on and the Original Camera deleted , and then reshot...once again I am using the Beta3 Still. M
  8. I haven't updated yet as I wasn't sure if I should install over the Beta , or Uninstall it and reinstall Clean as an Upgrade ( to X9) and perhaps not migrate anything , what would you suggest?
  9. I think I may have figured it out this morning , at least in the Beta.... try this ..... if you use the Automatic light Set? then set the Limit to 100 with Improve lighting Quality On ( 50 maybe enough in some plans , not in Grandview for me? ) , if left on the Default of 8, I can reproduce the White Out effect ...at least in the Grandview Plan ..still best to reshoot the View to fix it though as it seems to not like it if not reshot...I have set 100 in my Camera Defaults too now, to see if it continues or not , but need to test more to confirm if it works as maybe it is just a placebo or one off ?. M
  10. Are you letting it install over the beta or doing a Full Uninstall and Reinstall ? just wondering if a Full Reinstall with no Migration ( X9 or X10Beta) maybe the best way to go ? M.
  11. Thanks Joe , appreciate it , lets hope Napolean will come to the party and make a Full Library at some point.

  15. Same issue here , I can sometimes fix it moving the camera 12-18" left or right of the Original position , other times a Close and reshoot will fix it and sometimes toggling Improved Lighting will fix it but no definitive Fix yet , at least not in the Beta.... more in this thread too...
  16. I only work in Color, in Plan View and 3D Camera ( except Elevations where I don't like it much ) I don't usually Print in Color except to PDF , for some reason Plans don't "feel" like Plans if not in Black and White , must be something to do with not be a Millennial M.
  17. I'm guessing cos with Drywall on you can't see the Structural Elements of the Stairs ( the Carriage ) Usually, the Decorative Element above, ie the Stair Baseboard or Kick (or Stringer as some call) it is then the "important element" in CA 3D Views so it takes importance, since likely the Auto Stair Builder can't build both of different thicknesses in the same plane.
  18. You could Export the Library out of X8 and Try them , see if they work any differently , but as Mark said I thought they had "fixed" that in X9 but they will "jump" to the nearest object they think they need under certain circumstances , eg I have seen them jump from an Island to the nearest Wall before. I know I have picked up a few GFIs etc in the Symbol Forum over the years too if you need them. *The Jumping Issue happens when you Block Island Groups which causes the Electrical to detach but not move until a subsequent change is made eg changing it's height https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/16131-cabinet-or-island-duplex/?page=2#comment-135609 M.
  19. There is a PDF linked on the Certification Page ( and below ) but that is all the Help they will give , I inquired last year after seeing this post originally and they do not have Old Tests to Bone up on and find weak Spots etc with. https://cloud.chiefarchitect.com/1/pdf/training/certification-competency-matrix.pdf I assume that was 2003 Scott ? Not sure there were many Users in 1953 bit before I was playing with CA either Way. M.
  20. I am holding off too , I still don't have the last Update for X9 as it causes Issues for some....
  21. I have also noticed this in recent Files , but haven't figured out "The Why" , but you would think the "System" would Merge them automatically if the are Identical.... M.
  22. It is supposed to be today but I think in the Past The Official Announcement has not happened till about Lunchtime... And a Reminder that Beta Serial No#'s will expire on Feb 20th too. M.
  23. Do-able yes , just don't select Sloping Flat Truss or Move the bottom Chord off Horizontal at 1st as in my experience they they either become non-editable in the Truss Detail Window or require alot of Manual fixing ...someone may have a work around though ? I am not a Truss Expert by any means. a few posts on the topic https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/10899-how-to-you-fuss-with-a-truss/?do=findComment&comment=94632 https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/7895-sloping-flat-truss-with-parapet-walls/#comment-69739
