  1. I am not sure how you set up the roof but when I do dutch gables they always auto build real nice for me.
  2. here is the saved file if you want it back...... 648273596_ExistingHouse.plan
  3. I couldn't get it to auto build without throwing things out of whack but just simply drew a roof plan over the front railing, made the eave heights the same and it came out great. I had to manipulate the roof connections and slide that gable wall back a tad to get it to look right.
  4. did you click on the porch railing, go to roof settings and click dutch gable?
  5. Found it, dang, previous versions OOB never made me dig this deep. Thanks guys, it was on 1/4" defaults
  6. Am I in the right area guys? haha this one is getting me..... been a while since I came across something like this I am just not getting.
  7. it all still looks right to me.
  8. I have my labels set up like I want. Working plan is right but in electrical they are still uppercase and bigger font. I have messed with settings for a half hour and cannot figure it out. I can't stand minor things like this holding me up. working plan view electrical plan view
  9. Thanks, I guess suppressing will be the way to go. This was a problem in AutoCad but they had a weird code you could type in the properties box to get it to double line.
  10. Amateur question of the day here. How do we break up the text into double lines when this happens? It rarely happens so I have never investigated.
  11. That was it, not sure why that was unchecked but glad it was an easy fix. Thanks!
  12. Hey guys, I have attached a quick sample of what I am having issues with all of a sudden with monolithic slabs. It won't build with a brick ledge and nothing shows up on level 0. I went thru my settings on the "brick 4" wall and cannot see where anything is wrong. mono issues.plan
  13. Does the platform version need a slight slope to it? I assume it does but can just note it on the drawing.
  14. I like both of your ways guys. Makes perfect sense.
  15. Hey guys, is a widows walk nothing more than stopping roofing planes at a certain point and adding a zero pitch roof plane to close off the roof and then add railing walls above it to form a flat platformed space? I assume there are two types, a cupola type with windows and actual platform type. Client wants it just for looks and not be able to actually get up to the platform. The home is being built overlooking a bay. I guess the main question is how to get CA to recognize the space as a platform.
  16. This is the coolest thing I have ever seen in my life. I had no clue this was a feature. Wow, lots more to learn on the program.
  17. Is this done in a camera view? Can you let me know where to fins this? It sounds like what another program in the past calls external referencing.
  18. You are awesome, that worked!
  19. In previous versions before X15 I could slide cabinets and they would stop at drywall and snap to the corners. Now I have to stop and move point to point. Is this in the settings somewhere?
  20. When all else fails, just auto build from scratch, manipulate the flared roof planes and the errors go away...............
  21. Yeah I tired that and no luck. I am going to hit this at a different route and rebuild the roof from scratch and see where I went wrong.
  22. Hey guys, I am doing a roof with flared eaves. How come my soffit is angled if I left the boxed eaves checked? I need it flat. Looks like the wall accounts for the flat soffit since it has a gap and all. Thanks....
  23. How about just modeling all three structures in one main file then doing a "save as" three times for each structure with their own annotations and settings?
  24. I like the idea's here. I can do one site plan but do a CAD detail of the garage plans to copy and paste on the main home file. Thanks guys. What sucks is the garages will match the home and give that grand look for the renderings if they were all in one file.
