  1. tried a window method. Works except I cant make window frame invisible like a can a wall. Why doesn't CA give capabilities to make any object invisible? polyline worked but can't figure out how to cut hole in wall with it.
  2. was doing well until after I drew polyline. Is there a way to cut away wall using a polyline. Here I did material region but don't think it will cut all way through wall.
  3. Thanks Solver, What confuses me is that this needs to span multiple floors. But maybe it makes no difference. Looks like from your example, you have one floor house you probably sketched three walls attached to one side of house maybe you defined it as porch thus creating a concrete patio my guess is you simply deleted the left and right sides leaving only the front wall then on the front you sketched a polyline thingy and used that to make hole in wall that cut away all but the top arched section Am I close?
  4. The red line sketched on 3rd floor plan is how I am currently approaching this. It will form a box that I cut away what I don't want. Alternatively, I could model entire addition, import and easily move into position. Problem is it will not have roof plane functionality. Or I could model and import everything except red, which will allow for roof planes. I was thinking perhaps a rounded top window for the front opening and rectangular windows on sides for openings but need it clear for columns. Am I completely off track here? Thanks for your suggestions. Rocky VERS 4 two archways.plan
  5. I finally noticed I had two wall type which differed only by the last number in name. Thought they were the same. Two walls need the same thickness walls in order to form corner. Thx
  6. I've spent the last 8 hours researching issue of wall caps not meeting at corners. Very little info out there or in manual. Still cannot figure out why. Is there a way to see if this bug has been reported yet?
  7. Hey Glen, Can you tell me why 80 % of all my pony walls won't add a corner or even a cap? version 15.plan
  8. I modeled in and imported it but Solver found another way.
  9. Re transom windows shutters, I thought maybe they were hidden inside the behind the pony wall so I increased the width way beyond where they would stick outside of the wall. Still no shutters. I don't see a Shutters Invisible switch so it can't be that. Thanks for helping! R version 14.plan
  10. But casings are turned off. I would want no respect for casings, given that. So you could put them as close as you want, when casings turned off. That would seem to be better. Do you agree? Maybe good suggestion for suggestion box.
  11. There are so many options. 1. room definition walls 2. porch 3. regular external walls and it freaks me out that it has to go to more than one floor. Would appreciate recommendations. Thanks!
  12. Not sure what you mean by mulled. What is purpose of mulling? version 11.plan
  13. Hi, Does anyone know what CA thinks it is doing by filling in white between windows when you get close enough? Is this a vestigial casing?
  14. Thanks Glennw, I see now that the hole is automagically created id you enter 6" and check Inserts Into Wall. Maybe that means you have to enter the wall thickness for it to work. Thanks for your help!
  15. I'm sorry. I have version 11 and I cannot open version 12. Someone suggested using EWCP. I was hoping a pass-through window WAS a wall cutout polyline. I guess not. Would you please export as version 11. I'd really like to see the results. Thank you!!!
  16. Here you go. I've never used Wall Cutout Polyline. I've never seen the tool. If the Edit Wall Cutout Polyline edits a Wall Cutout Polyline, what creates one? I tried it. I can see shapes changing but a hole in wall is never created. Thx version 6.plan
  17. see video not sure if I'm trying to change the symbol or the opening. Nothing happens. Not OK button. Recording #5.mp4
  18. I followed solver's method and got it to work on a newly created set of four walls. Trouble is it doesn't work in a scenario where I already have the structure built and am just trying to add textures after the fact. I really don't want to start all over from scratch just to get a pony wall on this corner.
