  1. It sounds like the Chief Architect program doesn't have proper access to record/capture the screen on your Mac. When a program attempts an action that requires certain access, such as recording/capturing the screen, your operating system will prompt you to either "Open System Preferences" or "Deny" the program permission. If you didn't select "Open System Preferences" and grant screen recording access to the Chief Architect program or the option to grant access never appeared, the built-in Screen Capture tool will function as you've described. Fortunately, you can easily change screen recording access through your Mac's System Preferences at anytime. For additional information on how to do this, please see the forum post linked below.
  2. Hello, Do you happen to have X10 installed on the machine you're sending the plans to? There is a likely chance that the *.plan and *.layout file extensions are associated with that older X10 version instead of X12. You might try following the steps in this article to resolve the problem: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01131/associating-plan-layout-and-library-files-with-the-latest-version-of-chief-architect-or-home-designer.html
  3. Hi Heather, This article may help: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00654/restoring-the-size-position-of-the-side-windows.html
  4. Hi Ronniesha, This behavior presents itself when Chief Architect doesn't have proper permission to record/capture the screen. This can be resolved by following the steps below: Close Chief Architect. Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner and select System Preferences. Select the Security & Privacy category On the next screen, click on the Privacy tab at the top. On the left side, scroll down and click on the Screen Recording option. Place a check in the box next to the Chief Architect program. NOTE: If this section is grayed out, you may have to select the padlock icon in the bottom left corner and enter your Apple account credentials to make modifications. I hope this helps.
  5. Hi Charlene, Have you looked at this knowledge base article we have on connecting a Disto device to Room Planner? http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02905/ If you are still having trouble after following those steps, feel free to send me a PM.
