Solver, Thanks for pointing that out. Must be the old timers kicking in. Missed that all year. Here I thought we were really going to get something out of The update . I guess what we got was and increase in price and longer in between updates. Have a great week end, Ken

One more fly in this ointment. Here we have to extend exterior sheathing past and nail to sill plate so the outside of the sheathing of my framed wall has to line up with the outside of the brick on the foundation. Have a great Thursday,Ken

How to hide furring, insulation on a foundation wall?
NRST8TRKR replied to ElkRivers's topic in General Q & A
Try using display main layer only Have a great day, Ken -
Thanks Michael, Have a great week, Ken

Gene, I use a three layer Wall Type that allows me to dimension accurately. The company I draw for uses D logs with foam insulation between logs (no chinking). The gables are framed with half logs. The log corners are poly-solids. So far Happy Builder and Happy Clients and Happy Me, Ken

Hello Doug, I am in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia No problem with uplift or inspectors here (so far). Never know when that might change. In the case of a Prow Gable (which is only occasionally for the guys I work with) we build the gable low and run the look outs back to the next truss. Ken We just call it a Chicken Ladder
-
I know things are done differently in other parts of the country but this is the way we do our lookouts. 2x6 fly rafter with 2x6 lookout nailed to the end truss. Sheathing applied and then set on wall. Hope all have a Happy New Year, Ken
