Good afternoon. I am in need of some assistance on some projects. The cad guy I hired is not working out very well and is behind on the projects and the other gentleman I have used before is booked at this time. I need some assistance getting some drawings finalized and some started. A couple are on a tight deadline so experience with Chief and working efficiently i.e. quickly is a plus. Must have CA X15 Premier. If anyone has the time and is interested please send me a private message and I will respond. If  you are still interested, I will set up a zoom call to show the project and explain what I need to have done. Once I select someone I'll  post it. Thank you.

I'd be happy to help, please give me a call to review.

I am trying to align the upper wall, a pony wall, with the lower wall, a foundation wall.

I have all walls set to align to the main layer.
When I dimension the drawings, the foundation wall and upper walls do not align.
Wha am I doing wrong?  Plan is attached.
    Thanks in advance.

The total thickness of your lower wall (foundation) is 8" but your pony wall (lower section) is 8 15/16".

    Follow these steps

    • Select your top drawer and then click 'Lock from Auto Resize'
    • Select the other two drawers and make sure that "Lock from Auto Resize' is unchecked
    • Select the 'Vertical Layout Parent' at the top of the list and then click 'Equalize'

The bottom 2 drawers should now be equal size, Check out this article for more info https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02945/designing-cabinet-fronts.html

I have been using Chief Architect since X7...then upgraded to X8.  I do not use this platform for my construction drawings but as a tool for 3-D visuals.  Looking to upgrade to the current X15. My question is... will I lose all my content developed on X7 and X8? Will all my catalogues migrate with the upgrade?

You can open your files created in earlier versions with X15 but once they are saved in the new version, you cannot open them in an older version. Check out this article from the Knowledge Base https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01209/message-this-plan-cannot-be-opened.html

There is also an issue with the file type used in older versions, more info here https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00279/opening-legacy-files.html

Click on the gear icon to the right of the preview panel, that will bring up a drop down menu. From there, click on 'Details' & 'Preview'. You can also do this with the 'Folders' section by right clicking and choosing 'Filter Results'. Rene did a great video on the new library awhile back, if I can find it I'll post it here.
