  1. I have made a simple macro to show the ceiling height for a selected room. It is not showing the trailing zero. I am attaching my macro below. Any thoughts?

    height = room.finished_ceiling_elevation - room.finished_floor_elevation

    nf = NumberFormatter.new

    nf.unit = "'-\""

    nf.use_fractions = true

    nf.apply (height)

  2. I have been a draftsman for 16 years and ran a home design business for the last 8. I also just opened my own cabinet shop where I handle the design work. I can tell you there are better options for cabinet drawings. Mozaik, KCD, eCabinets, Cabinet Vision. These will give you cut lists and door/drawer sizes for production or ordering. I used Chief momentarily to knock out some renderings fast, but it is definitely not a long term solution. I have run eCabinets for 4 years for production cabinetry and am in the process of switching to KCD. I would definitely look in to some of the options I mentioned above to help improve effeciency.

  3. I just installed X13 and have been previously running X12 for the past year or so. I am aware of the new rendering requirements and I am ok with no ray tracing and things like that. Basic elevations would be handy for the time being. I am on the hunt for a GTX 960 video card locally. I was not expecting to have to upgrade video cards at this time.

  4. Everything was working great on X12. Same system other than upgrading to 16gb of memory and putting a 500 gb solid state drive in. I will try to give tech support a call tomorrow and see what can be done or needs to be done.

  5. I am attaching (2) photos below with the specs to my video card and my system. I am getting the error at start up that says I can't create 3d views due to my card not being supported. I believe it meets the minimum specs so I am not sure where else to look.

  6. Is there a way to center justify the auto label for elevations/plans that are on the layout page? To further explain, I use the automatic label and the box scale macros but I would like to center justify them. I didn't see a way to do that, but I may be overlooking it.

  7. I needed to line up a manual dimension with an automatic dimension for some scenarios. I just don't like where it puts some of the auto dimensions. A designer I am working with now wants all of the dimensions to line up on each view so that there is continuity between the sheets. I just wanted to have an easy/quick way to ensure they line up.

  8. I have an odd situation. I need to snap to the end of a dimension line. I checked my snap preferences. I am not sure this is a capability, but maybe someone has a solution. I have been just trying to line the crosshairs on my pointer to line up with the dimension/extension lines. Slow but it works.

  9. The architect I am moonlighting for wants the title sheet to be rotated 90° to the rest of the sheets. I am not sure this is possible without creating a new layout just to have the title sheet be in the correct orientation. Is this an accurate assumption?

  10. Hey everybody. I am learning a lot in Chief Premier x12 and I am amazed I didn't make this switch sooner. I have a question regarding resizing the 2d symbols for electrical plan. They seem small but I am not 100% sure how to adjust it.

  11. Thank you guys for the replies. It is a bit unusual. It is for a contractor that had a previous drafting firm handling drawings in AutoCad. They have come to me to not only maintain their standard plans, but to also make revisions for specific clients. I am just trying to match the previous drawings.

  12. Hello everybody. I have recently made the jump from the Home Designer Pro series to Premier X12. I have a client that wants the windows to be labeled with letters instead of numbers. I have not seen a way to change that but am I missing something?
